Are you sure? I’ve used plenty of scan tools to recover keys from PC’s. Have never tried it with Office specifically , but I would assume any one of the dozens hundreds? At any rate, it still requires a MS account to activate it, which also allows you to view your key, so previous point about “all you need is the user’s Microsoft account credentials to get everything you need” stands.
Yes, I am sure , unfortunately the same applies to Office and newer Adobe Acrobat applications. From Office on, the full key is encrypted. And, that’s where the “fun” starts. Because of Covid, the Microsoft stores are all closed and when you call the Microsoft Customer Service number, you can’t talk with a live person – you are told to go on-line.
I attempted to describe the problem on Microsoft Chat but that proved useless. I thought I would attempt to reset my password but since I had to use my current email address in order to receive a reset verification code, that didn’t work.
They wanted to send the verification code to my old and hacked email address. I have the purchase receipt and the card showing the key code but that backup documentation seems to do me no good at this point. I don’t want to have to purchase or lease a new Office since I’ve already paid for it once. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions as to what I might do or am I just up the creek?
